EasiClay

EasiClay is one of a range of innovative tennis surfaces designed by Sports Surfaces Technologies to meet the needs of tennis players in the 21st century. This artificial clay surface replicates the play of good clay courts but avoids the disadvantages usually associated with them.

EasiClay is playable all year round and is not affected by rain or frost. It drains rapidly and is playable immediately after heavy rain with no significant change in play characteristics from dry conditions. Maintenance is minimal. No watering or rolling is required and little dragging is needed. The loose granules which give the authentic slide characteristics are much more stable than on a clay court.

The surface is derived from Porous Kushion Kourt, an established free draining acrylic surface. It consists of a heavy duty cushioned PVC mesh which is glued to a porous macadam or concrete base and is then finished with a special paint coating. The mesh contains millions of small holes which ensure good drainage and lock in most of the rubber granules which convert the court from a porous cushioned acrylic to a proous cushioned clay court. This conversion process can be easily reversed at little cost and so it is possible to choose either surface in the knowledge that one can be fully flexible if requirements change.
